TEES VALLEY
MUSIC HUB
The Tees Valley Music Hub is a partnership of local music educators, local authorities, music industry professionals and community musicians. The Hub is committed to working to deliver the National Plan for Music Education.
The Hub will aim to achieve this by working together to provide the highest quality, most affordable, most progressive and most inclusive opportunities to the children, young people and adults in Tees Valley. Tees Valley Music Service, one of the UKs largest music services, is Lead Partner in the Hub.
WHAT IS A MUSIC HUB?
Music Hubs remain a key part of the National Plan for Music Education with a clear statement that every Hub will build "a sustainable local eco-system for music education, through partnerships, with progression, access and inclusion, central to their work".
As a collection of organisations working in a local area, Music Hubs create joined up music education provision for children and young people, both in and out of school. They ensure that every child aged 5-18 has the opportunity to sing and learn a musical instrument, and to perform as part of an ensemble or choir.
They also allow young people to take their talent further – this might be through local ensembles, partnerships with nationally funded music organisations including National portfolio organisations.
